Jellyfish over updraft
Jellyfish over updraft
May on the plains is sprite hunting season.
This was one of those late May events where storms didn't strengthen until early morning. I was originally driving home around 1 am, but pulled over after seeing the updrafts taking off in the distance. Shooting until sunrise, I didn't catch many sprites, but the ones I did get were exceptional.
Though aligned perfectly, the lightning in this storm tower was not the parent stroke for this jellyfish sprite. It was a big bolt deep within the system behind that generated this perfect scene.
