Church or schoolhouse?

I wasn't sure.

But standing there for a while in the dark, I could almost imagine how it was to be around this spot back in the day, when the wood was new and freshly stained. It was built with love and purpose and was likely a busy spot, so different from its current quiet and lonely demeanor.

Then I got to thinking about how time passes and humanity progresses.

Back 60+ years ago, when the foundations for this structure were being laid, red sprites weren't even imagined. Now, we have people circling the earth in metal capsules who photograph these fleeting moments of nature from above the clouds.

What I particularly love about this capture is the secondary TLE's on the left sprite. It followed an unusual path, outside of all the tendrils, almost up to the initiation point. Strange....
